The Medialab Prado residency program welcomes artists and researchers who develop projects linked to the laboratories of the center, mentors of the prototyping workshops and speakers of the seminars, as well as the various collaborators who carry out construction work of knowledge around the center.
The residences are mainly fixed through collaboration agreements with foundations, embassies, official bodies, institutions and exchanges with other cultural organizations.
Within the open, diverse and inclusive program of the residences there are different modalities:
- Open calls with the support of foundations such as: Banco Santander Foundation (Levadura Project 2014-2020) the European Cultural Foundation (ECF 2016 -2018), Banco Sabadell Foundation (Interactive Residences? 2016)
- Collaborations with institutions, official bodies and embassies: Secretaría General Iberoamericana (SEGIB) (program Laboratories of Citizen Innovation in Ibero-America) 2016 - 2020, Bogotá Platform - District Institute of Arts, IDARTES, Mayor of Bogotá DC (open call 2018 - 2020), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Artes (2019-2020), Vlaamse Gemeenschap, (Department Culture, Youth and Media, division policy and knowledge), Bruselas, 2020 National Fund of Arts (FNA) Ministry of Culture of Argentina (ARCO Argentina 2017), Embassy of Colombia (ARCO Colombia 2015),
- Collaborations with associations: Festival IN-SONORA (2016 - 2020), CAAP (Collaborative Arts Partnership Program): Art in social and community contexts 2106/2017,
- Residents invited by project: Alejandra Gaviria, George Yúdice...
Medialab Prado has three small apartments that are composed of a work area on the lower floor and a loft with a bed and bathroom. In the common space there is a multipurpose room that can serve as a meeting room, presentations space or workshop shared with the rest of the residents, there is also a small common kitchen equipped with a fridge and microwave. It does not have an electric cooker or a gas oven.
